Console 8_Office_App_is_in_Memory

This error message indicates that something is running in memory and Console 8 cannot seem to turn it off. The software is looking to see if an office application is running and essentially needs the user to close it prior to starting an exam.

Try the following steps to resolve this:

A. Reboot the computer, log into Console 8 and try to start an exam without opening any applications. If this resolves the issue, you may proceed to take your exam.

B. If the above does not resolve the issue, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and go into the Task Manager. Scroll through the list of programs and look for any program running that has an office application name like WORD.EXE and/or look for a program that has an application name in the middle of it for example abcWORD.exe – once you find the program, click on it and then select End Task – you should be able to launch the exam now.
